    The days are starting to get longer, but we still have some periods without much sunlight ahead of us. It is not a surprise to anyone that the lack of sun usually leads to fatigue and a decrease in motivation, which can affect team spirit and company productivity in general. We will share some easy ways companies can improve the well-being of their teams during wintertime.

    • Celebrate both company and employee achievements. While celebrating and recognizing even the smallest team or individual employee’s win is important throughout the year, companies should especially focus on that during the winter. A great way to start the new year is to review what was accomplished last year and reward your employees for their results. After the holidays, a lot of extra positivity is usually needed, and there's no better time to celebrate accomplishments, no matter their size or importance.

    • Provide additional training. A key factor in being a great employer is providing training to your employees and making sure all team members are aware of the available training opportunities. It is very important that employees feel that they are supported with exactly what they need, whether it is additional knowledge or additional things.

    • Offer benefits to improve well-being. Sports-related memberships and other benefits have now become an integral part of companies’ culture, and many Lithuanian employers offer this benefit to their employees. If you do not offer these benefits, your company should seriously consider enabling them. If you already offer various benefits as part of motivational packages, it is a good idea to check every year whether the offered options still suit your employees’ needs. Providing a comprehensive health package helps people reduce stress and tension, which in turn increases productivity. And the most important thing here is that offering different benefits makes the employees feel that the company cares about them, and this leads to the loyalty that most employers seek.

    • Create a strong sense of community. Any work environment, whether it is an office, shop, or warehouse, plays a central role in employee well-being. This is the place where everyone gathers, holds meetings, communicates with each other, etc. And it is also the place where people spend a relatively large part of their day. Through various communication and social media platforms, people can be in contact with each other (Teams, Viva Engage, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), encourage the use of these platforms so that there is an opportunity to be aware of all the information shared in the company. Organizing events is a great way to bring people together and connect. In the case of larger teams, there can also be meetings based on interests, be it sports, crafts, etc. Even in the case of remote and hybrid work, it is possible to create a community in the same way through social media and social networks, regular communication, and talks where not only work-related topics are discussed.

    Whatever your company's capabilities, always remember that a company's greatest asset is the employees who work every day to achieve the company's goals. The more motivated and healthier they are, the more effectively they will move towards common goals.
